Wipeout is a popular little beach close to the Children’s Pool area, and enjoyed for its not-too-crowded sandy beach. Its a favorite with skim-boarders, and also as an entry/exit for kayakers and SUPs. However, the only way down the bluffs is via these stairs, but the bottom landing has fallen away a few years ago, and now there’s a 3-foot drop and no railing to the sand. Like the majority of access stairs along the La Jolla shoreline, these stairs now are essentially off-limits, and only accessible for the sure-footed.
